A Bezza Journey - First Impression Fuel Economy

A Bezza Journey -  Fuel Economy

Being an EEV, the Bezza is design for fuel Economy in mind.  Its supposed to get you 22km per lt (Advance Version) or 4.6lt per 100km, with features at the Dashboard to assists you.

Firstly, there is the Eco Light which light up when the car “think” you are driving in an economical way, then at the odo meter there is a “Current Fuel Consumption” reading, all which can help you to drive properly.  Third there the lower Idle speed (or if you have the advance model the engine cut off ) which should save fuel when you are stuck in traffic or at the lights

So Far I have done some simple testing

1.       100% Highway Drive, 10km distance, after refueling, reset the AVG at the odo meter, Low Traffic conditions, speed of 60 – 80 kmph average, air con at the first notch = the odo meter read 28 km/lt  which translated out to 3.6lt/100km.

2.       One week of Urban Driving, Lots of Traffic Lights, Air Con at ¾.  Marketing, School,  etc
By Manual Calculation (Tank full to Tank full Method) =    12.03 km/lt or 8.3lt/100km
While the odo meter showed 12.5km/lt

3.      Mix Majority Highway 4 days of Commuting approx. 40km one way, 70 % highway, mostly low traffic, speed below 80kmph, Air Con ¼  Morning, ½ afternoon), 2 days of Urban Driving & the 1 K inspection
By Manual Calculation (Tank full to Tank full Method) = 19.59 km/lt or 5.11 lt / 100km
While the odo meter showed 20.0km lt

As a side note :  My Alza will usuall consume around RM65 to RM75 per week for the equivalent, while this week (3) Bezza full tank was RM51/-

This figures are during the Running in Period.

Comments:
Fuel Economy : While one need to work on it, with the correct driving technique, with the right driving conditions, The official fuel figures can certainly be achieved with out too much difficulty.

Odo Meter Accuracy : Fuel,  accuracy of the Meter vs Manual (Tank full to Tank Full Method) seems to differ by 0.5km in both the test.
