15 Days of Event @ Butterworth Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year Celebrations is a big do, and the epicenter of all the celebration in Butterworth will be at the 9 God Emperor Temple at Raja Uda.  And have they lineup entertainment for all 15 days of the New Year for you to enjoy.

I suspect that this 15 Days of Event will even out do Penang Island Celebrations.  See Below for all the details !

Just received information that on the 24^th Dec 2016 from 8.30am to 5pm, and the event is call Pagi Pagi, Butterworth which will be held at Dewan Dato Hg Ahmad Badawi, Butterworth. (Butterworth Padang MPSP)   

Events held include Food Truck, Food & Beverage, Toys, Handicraft. Pets , Skateboard, BMX and Photography Contests among others    -  more updates once i get them.    

2017 Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

the Annual Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2017 will be held on the 4 & 5th Feb 2017, (as with last year, just one week after Chinese New Year) at Polo Ground, near Penang General Hospital.

Last year as a teaser, I saw the Hot Air Balloon at Jawi / Nibong Tebal are one week  before the actual event while driving along the highway.

If not mistaken the hours for the Fiesta is early morning till 9 or 10 am.

Announcement - George Town Festival (GTF) dates for 2017

Kindly Note the following Festival, George Town Festival will be held on the 28th of JULY  till 3rd of September 2017.  Festival will include the Butterworth Fringe Festival to be announce at a later date.

George Town Festival is a festival held to commemorate George Town being declare a city.  (for a 2d time)   Various Festival, Local & International Act, Arts, Activities will be held at George Town during this time.

Announcement - Pesta Chingay Seberang Prai

Kindly Note the following Festival Pesta Chingay ( Seberang Prai Edition ) will be held on the 25th Dec 2016 8pm in the roads between Butterworth MPSP Padang - Raja Uda .

A big thanks to the organiser to have a Seberang Prai Edition of this festival,  Much appriciated.

The Chingay Festival is unique to Penang, (at least for Malaysia) where multiracial participants balance giant flags, on shoulders, forehead, chests. etc,  in a way similar to the Swiss Flag Display Team, but with flags 20 to 30 times bigger.  

Avoid those roads if you do not intend to view the Chingay.
