Today my wife tell me is Winter Solstice, so for me it means that 

1.       Earth is furthest from the Sun

2.       Its Winter for the Northern Hemisphere /  Summer for the south 

3.       Christmas is coming

4.       Longest Night for those at the north pole 

That all ….  No my wife say,  The Tong Chit festival,  you have to eat round multicolour glutinous rice balls serve in syrup and you must eat even number balls for “Luck”,  let go to the market to buy the “thong yun”

Oh well I decide to google it up in wiki, here the link  to find out more, hmm how I wish the version in Malaysia is the one with the Alcoholic Wine instead of syrup …. 

 Well in summery wiki tell me that, among others the celebration is

1.       “the making and eating of tong yun is to symbolise reunion” 

2.       “each person must eat one big ball and several small ball”

3.       “That you are one year older and to behave better the next year”

Well the thong yun we purchase from the market is said to be organically colored using natural ingredients, pic below
