J & S Restaurant @ Raja Uda - A Homely Restaurant

We decided to revisit J&S Restaurant for Dinner, a restaurant we have not been to for some time.  Back those days when they first open in Butterworth, they were a Kopi Tiam Style Restaurant, ie With out Air Condition,  Now they Offer Air Condition Comfort Seating  :)  That is already a plus point in Malaysia.

Taste wise :  I am glad to report that this restaurant dish up TASTY food,  note :  not salty,  but food with Flavor.  This time we had the Garupa Fish Curry, Dong Po Pork,and the Kang Kong Belachan, all small portion, Pu Er Chinese Tea with this and that, with the bill coming to a total of RM71.25 after GST.

I would not say that the food is the best, but it sure beat many other restaurants, Dong Po Pork was nicely done, proper amount of Lean and Fat, with flavorful sauce,  you can taste the Fu Ye used to flavor the dish.  The Kang Kong may bave a bit more stems than what i personally like, but some people prefer it that way and there is enough dry shrimps to give the dish some umph.  Fish curry is done with out Santan / Milk,  Grouper Fish Meat is use.

While waiting for all the food to arrive,  they dish up some braised peanuts & pickle young papaya. The Popularity of the restaurant can be seen with the constant stream of customers arriving.  There are some seating available out side the restaurant for those who prefer natural ventilation and that act as a smoking area.

One of the things that make this restaurant stand out is the friendly & multilingual ordertaker,  Cantonese also can, Mandarin can do, English Speaking.   The Restaurant also dish up some roast meats,  Display on the Wall are Posters of Various Restaurant specialties, I notice they do Suckling Pig is available with Advance Order, Peking Duck (he say best to call to book as there is limited Supplies daily).

 Parking : is basically street parking, however there is a large parking area, just 10 meters away.
