Tiger CKT at Carnarvon Street, Penang

when I need good CKT,  I have no choice but to cross the channel for my CKT fix,  some how or other CKT in Seberang Prai just does not hit the spot.  sad, however i turn it in to a Penang Walkabout.

Note : this post is on a Char Koey Teow Stall on the Penang Island (Not at Butterworth)

So a hop over the channel as a pedestrian using the ferry I was wolfing down my Char Koey Teow at Tiger CKT, @ Ping Hooi Cafe, a corner coffeeshop located at Carnavon Street / Leboh Melayu Corner.

Tiger CKT is one of those famous CKT that located in a Old Coffee Shop in George Town, which is open for breakfast and lunch, perserving is RM7.50 at this date and time, comes with 2 large prawns, and will customize the CKT to your requirements. I would rate this place is as one of the Top CKT in town. (personal). As its is one of the more pricey CKT in town,  getting a seat and having the food serve to you fast is not a problem.  I also had Penang Style Loh Bak  consisting of Prawns Fritter,  Sting Ray Fish and Pigs Ear.

The Penang Sentral is still being built, and once ready will be a proper hub that will house, the Ferry Terminal, Taxi, Express Bus, Local Bus, with an Adjacent Train Station among other essentials like a food court, government payment office.  So at the present moment pedestrians have to watch out crossing the roads, vehicals just to get to the terminal through the bus station.  we have to climb over a overhead bridge to go over the rail tracks and then a ramp to the ticketing office.

The Penang Ferry is now under new management, the Federal Goverment Rapid Bus has taken over the operation, for the past few months, and they have so far, repainted, cleanup, and installed new ticketing system using QR code.  Purchase of the ticket is still manual over the counter ?????   Now they are using a Normal Bus (formally Van) to transfer / Shuttle pedestrian who does not wish to climb one of the two over head bridge to the bus station.

Penang Times Square, i wonder should it be call MMall?  is one of those malls that suffered low occupancy,  it seems to be recovering somewhat with as there is the New MMall, and look like MMall is taking over most of the shops in the Times Square area.  M Mall is beautifully decorated.  .
